Friday Virtue #10: Suffering in comfort…

“People have a hard time letting go of their suffering. Out of a fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar.” — Thich Nhat Hanh

I read something similar to this a few years ago and it was like a matrix moment to me.

Because it’s Goddamn true!

So many people choose to suffer. We walk right into it. I believe that 3 out of 5 employees hate their jobs, according to a recent survey. It’s pretty miserable.

We live in a system that is very hard to break free from. But, it’s a system. It’s familiar and we go along with it.

Why? Because we don’t know what else to do – the unknown.

I dream of breaking free from it all someday and being entirely self-sufficient.

I guess most of us do – I wish you all the best.

Happy Friday all, have a nice weekend.
